Best Korean Restaurant in Edinburgh
I think a lot of people would agree with me that’s the Kim’s Mini Meals! Owned by the Kim’s family, this small and nicely decorated Korean restaurant offers a decent range of authentic Korean food.
Lunchtime would be the best to have them. Open from 12 – 3 pm, around 8-9 pounds for a main course, which comes with the soup of the day, salad, kimchi and a bowl of healthy red rice AND a free refill of the rice! Probably one of the most valuable lunch combinations you could get in Edinburgh!
However, the restaurant is rather small, serving around 18-20 people at a time. Lunchtime opens at 12, I went there twice at 12:20 and still had to wait for a seat but just about 5-10 mins. Plus, the owner Mr. Kim is super friendly that even when you are waiting for the table, he will make sure you are well taken care of. Starters include Kimbap and the Korean classic Tteokbokki (spicy). Main courses are also served with the soup of the day and kimchi. My personal favourite is Pork Bulgogi, which is also served with salad. Also on the menu are chicken and beef Bulgogi. If you don’t like spicy food, you can go for beef Bulgogi, they are non-spicy. However, they are not really spicy spicy. You can also ask for less spicy. And if you like the world k-pop hit Gangnan style, or you used to like before your ears are abused by the replays, you can also find an additional Korean flavour.(by ka wing wang)
